A message from Kate...
I am seeking your vote to allow me the honor of working as a Judge in the Tenth Judicial District. Who am I and why should you place your trust in me? Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

For the past twenty years, I have had the honor and privilege of serving the public. In 1990, I began working in the Victim Witness unit of the Hennepin County Attorney's Office. While working full time and putting myself through law school at night, I gained valuable experience in many areas of law including:
- Criminal prosecution
- Victim advocacy
- Consumer protection
- Child support
- Office of civil rights complaints
After my children were born, I accepted a job in the Anoka County Attorney's Office so that I could be closer to home while my children were young. I have worked as a prosecutor in Anoka County since 1999, with a significant focus on juvenile issues, including child protection, and I was recently promoted to the position of Head of Operations. In the past few years, I have expanded my knowledge of the law by working on civil matters for Anoka County while working on a significant technology project for the county. I am active in my community including teaching Juvenile Justice at William Mitchell College of Law for three years and volunteering as a mediator for Mediation Services of Anoka County for the past ten years.
I believe my qualifications and personality are ideally suited for a judicial position and I am seeking the opportunity to serve the citizens of the Tenth Judicial District as a judge:
Thank you for your time and your consideration of my qualifications. I hope you will consider voting for me in November 2010. Look for the long list of candidates for Seat 3 and Vote for Catherine (Kate) McPherson! My well-developed sense of justice and fairness, combined with my ability to create an atmosphere of respect and dignity for people coming before the court, will serve the citizens of the Tenth Judicial District well. Unlike many of the other candidates for the position, I have been through the rigorous merit selection process for judicial appointments and have been selected as a finalist for a Tenth Judicial judgeship on three occasions.
